Boat Ed's Iowa online course has the same boating safety content as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) classroom course.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources Pass this course, and then you may print a temporary boater education certificate to serve as your temporary operating permit until you are mailed a boater safety education card from the DNR.
There is an additional $5.00 charge for the permanent Iowa Boater Education Certificate, which will be mailed to your home within 3-4 weeks.
