Boat California is an official boating safety course of the California Department of Boating & Waterways. Taking this safe boating course will allow you to get your California boating license online, which will satisfy court-ordered mandatory boater education required by California law when a boater is convicted of a moving violation.

Take the California Boating Exam. Pay $29.50—one time only, after you pass. When you pass, you may instantly print out a temporary boating safety education certificate. You will receive your permanent boater education card, approved by the California Department of Boating & Waterways, by mail.

What's the difference between a boating license and a boating safety education certificate?
