Register for the Florida Boater Safety Course
When you register, you’ll create a username and password. This will allow you to come and go, completing the course at your own pace.

Study the Free Course Material
The course is broken into 6 boater safety units. Each unit features videos, graphics, and animations to visually reinforce the safe boating topics. The course can be completed in one sitting or completed a little at a time over several days.

Pass the Certification Exam
At the end of the course, you’ll take the Certification Exam. If you don’t pass on the first try, don’t worry — you can keep taking the Certification Exam for free until you pass. After you pass and pay the one-time $29.50 course fee, you may instantly print out your Temporary Boater Education Certificate — good for 90 days. Your official Florida Boating Safety Education I.D. Card will arrive in the mail in 2–3 weeks.
