Youth Must Wear Life Jackets

Children 14 years of age or younger, on board vessels 19 feet or less, must wear an approved life jacket when the vessel is underway.

Wildwater Wisdom

Idaho’s whitewater is fun but powerful. Know the risks before you go and what to do to stay out of danger. Contact us for our new river trail series— “Wildwater Wisdom,” the Payette River Guide and the Main Salmon River Guide—at 208-334-4199 or at www.parksandrecreation.idaho.gov.

Help keep Idaho a boater’s paradise!

Pump-out station signBoating is a way of life here. More boaters enjoy Idaho's lakes and rivers each year, increasing the potential for pollution.

You can make a difference! Safeguard our water quality for generations to come. It’s responsible … and it’s the law.

  • Use pump-out stations to dispose of sewage.
  • Refer to the instructions posted by each pump-out station.
  • Remember, pump-out stations are for human waste only—not solid waste, like diapers or bottles. Use garbage cans and recycle bins for solid waste.
  • Ask for help if you need it.
  • Look for/properly remove milfoil & zebra mussels.
  • See below for a list of boat pump-out and sanitation sites in Idaho.
