Oklahoma Boating Regulations and Laws

The Oklahoma boating safety education certificate (commonly known as the Oklahoma boating license) is proof that a boater has successfully completed a boating safety course.

Jet ski towing wakeboarderA child 12 years of age or older but not yet 16 years of age may operate a vessel powered by a motor or combination of motors over 10 horsepower, a personal watercraft (PWC), or a sail-powered vessel 16 feet or more in length only if he or she has successfully completed an approved boating safety education course and received a Boating Safety Education Certificate and is supervised by a competent adult who is at least 18 years of age.

Even if not required by law to get the Oklahoma boating license, many boaters take the boat safety course in order to save on their PWC or boat insurance.
