The Oklahoma boating safety education certificate (also referred to as the Oklahoma Boaters License) is proof that a boater has demonstrated basic boating knowledge by passing an approved boating safety course and exam.
A child 12 years of age or older but not yet 16 years of age may operate a vessel powered by a motor or combination of motors over 10 horsepower, a personal watercraft (PWC), or a sail-powered vessel 16 feet or more in length only if he or she has successfully completed an approved boating safety education course and received a boating safety education certificate and is supervised by a competent adult who is at least 18 years of age.
There is no minimum age to take the online boat safety exam.
The online Certification Exam costs $29.50—one time only, after you pass. There is no charge for the Oklahoma boating safety education certificate.

A duplicate can be issued for a $10 charge if the student took (and passed) the Boat Ed Oklahoma online course. To obtain a duplicate Oklahoma card, mail the request with a check for $10, payable to BOAT ED OKLAHOMA, to:
