Texas Boating License Overview

Boat Texas is the official boating safety course of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Taking this safe boating course will allow you to get your Texas boating license online.

	Study the Texas safe boating course material and take one or more Practice Tests—free of charge.
	Take the Texas Boating Exam for $13, collected online. When you pass, you will receive your permanent boater education certification card by mail from Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The online course adopted by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Hacker Safe certified site, protecting you from 99.9% of hacker crime	By law, you must be at least 13 years old to receive your Texas boater education certificate. Twelve year olds may take the Certification Exam, but they will not be mailed their boater education certificate until their 13th birthday. Passing the Texas boating safety course may make you eligible for a discount on your boat or PWC insurance. Send a copy of your boater safety certificate to your agent and start saving!

What's the difference between a boating license and a boating safety education certificate?
