Now let’s take a look at what we learned about navigation and safe operation—basically just knowing how to get around safely. Remember what buoy markers are for, like red right return. Be ready to recognize markers and buoys. Know their meanings, especially danger and off-limits. How long should your anchor line be? Should you drop the anchor from the bow or the stern? What can cause a PWC to lose steering control? Know what behaviors cause the most complaints for PWCs, and just know how to be courteous. What does the emergency safety switch do? And know to keep that engine off when passengers are boarding or disembarking. All right—good luck on that quiz, and we’ll see you in Unit 4.
