Penalties for Boating Under the Influence of Intoxicants
Oregon law establishes penalties for those arrested and convicted of BUII.
- BUII is a Class A misdemeanor. If you are found guilty of BUII, the offense is punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $6,250.
- The court could also require you to complete a safe boating class, remove your privilege of operating a boat for up to one year, suspend your boater’s education card for one to three years, and may have your boat registration suspended for three years.
