I'm Steve, and I'm here to talk to you about the buckles on your life vest. A properly buckled and adjusted life vest is just as important as the decision of what life vest you're going to use. After choosing the proper size vest, the following steps will help to achieve proper buckle adjustment.
Before snapping the buckle, ensure you have enough slack in the webbing to not buckle under tension. You can produce more slack by simply pulling the part perpendicular to the webbing like this. To buckle, insert the latch into the body in this orientation, ensuring that the loose end of the strap is to the outside. Once buckled, pull on the loose end of the strap to tighten until it is snug. Take the free end of the strap and stow it under the webbing guide like that. To unbuckle, simply push on the tabs.
