Do you need Missouri Boating education?

This non-certified boating safety course is required for you to obtain a temporary permit, which is only valid for seven days. The temporary one-time permit allows you to operate a rental vessel, or “demo” vessel for sale, if you do not have a valid boater identification card.

Get certified to rent in 3 steps.

  1. Review the Missouri Boating Handbook. Pay for and pass the Missouri Boat Rental Checklist.

  2. Print your Temporary Missouri Boating Safety Certification Card. Present this card to the boat rental facility, along with your driver's license.

  3. Get your rental, keep your temporary certification card on board, and get on the water.

Missouri law only allows a temporary permit to be obtained one time per person.
