Boat Arizona is the official boating safety course of the Arizona Game and Fish Department (GFD). Taking this safe boating course will allow you to get your boating certificate (often called the Arizona boating license).

Take the Arizona Boating Exam for $29.50, collected online. When you pass, you may instantly print out a temporary certificate.

You will receive your permanent Arizona boater education certificate by mail within 5–7 business days.

Passing the Arizona boating safety course may make you eligible for a discount on your boat or PWC insurance. Send a copy of your boater safety certificate to your agent and start saving!

Who Can Operate a Watercraft in Arizona?

  • Arizona law states that it is illegal for a person under the age 12 to operate a vessel with a motor greater than 8 horsepower, which includes personal watercraft, unless an emergency exists or another person at least 18 years of age is onboard.
