Boat Kansas is the official boating safety course of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (DWP). Taking this safe boating course will allow you to get your Kansas boating license online.

Pay $29.50—one time only, after you pass. When you pass, you may instantly print out a temporary certificate. You will receive your permanent Kansas boater safety education certificate by mail.

Who is required to have boater education in Kansas?

  • Any person between the ages of 12 and 20 who wishes to operate a vessel (PWC, power boat, sailboat) without direct supervision must complete an approved boater education course.
  • No one under the age of 12 may operate a vessel without supervision. The supervising adult must be at least 18 years of age and either have completed a boater education course or be exempt because they are 21 years of age or older.
