Float Plan

On-screen text: BOATING

Speaker 1: So what is a float plan?

Speaker 2: A float plan is a plan for when a boat’s going to leave a dock or a ramp—that they have a plan for where they’re going. They want to leave information about their boat, about the people on the boat, how to contact that person, and let that person know what the route they’ll be on.

And if something happens, they’ll leave it with somebody that will actually make a call to them. So if it’s 6 o’clock and it says on the float plan that they will be back at 6 o’clock, the most important thing is leave it with somebody who will actually pay attention and make that call to see if they’re OK.

Speaker 1: Too easy.
