Wear Personal Protective Equipment

Rescue personnel should wear the following personal protective equipment (PPE):

• Don and secure an appropriately sized U.S. Coast Guard–approved PFD with attached whistle, knife, and two locking carabineers.
• Wear a helmet designed for water rescue applications with an attached waterproof light source and reflective tape.
