Washington Boating Education Requirements
All operators born on or after January 1, 1955, must have the Washington Boater Education Card to operate a vessel powered by a motor of 15 or more horsepower. Anyone under the age of 12 years may not legally operate a vessel powered by a motor of 15 or more horsepower. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 15 years may operate a vessel powered by a motor of 15 or more horsepower only if he or she has the Washington Boater Education Card. Anyone 14 years of age or older may legally operate a personal watercraft (PWC) only if he or she has the Washington Boater Education Card.

You must be at least 12 years old to take this online course.
You do not have to be a resident of Washington to take this online course.
