Louisiana Boating Education Requirements

All operators born after January 1, 1984, may operate a vessel powered by a motor of more than 10 horsepower only if accompanied by a person older than 18 years of age, who has successfully completed the boater safety course. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 16 years to operate a personal watercraft in the state of Louisiana.
