Course Outline

All persons who operate or navigate any vessel must have a Boating Safety Certificate showing successful completion of a boating safety course approved by the Harbor Master.

A person under 18 years of age may not legally operate any vessel over 16 feet in length unless he or she:

  • Has a Boating Safety Certificate showing successful completion of a boating safety course approved by the Harbor Master or…
  • Is under the supervision of a person at least 18 years of age who has completed an approved boating safety course successfully.

Operators required to have a Boating Safety Certificate must carry it on board the vessel.
