Snowy Plover

Critical wildlife areas (CWAs) are established to give wildlife the space needed for nesting, roosting, and foraging. CWAs are clearly marked with signs or buoys to alert boaters to areas that are closed to public access.

  • People, pets, and vessels are prohibited from entering CWAs posted as closed.
  • Fishing and casting into the CWA buffer zones also are prohibited during the closure period.

For more information, please visit the FWC website.
