We are so excited to announce the availability of Spanish language boater education courses through Boat-Ed!

This is part of our ongoing commitment to promote boating safety to all. Now, with the offering of Spanish language courses, we can support the Spanish-speaking community, fostering safe and enjoyable experiences on the water.

With these courses, we continue our goal of ensuring vital safety information reaches a broader audience. Adding an option to take a boater education course in Spanish also makes it easier for boaters to meet their state's requirements for boating licenses or education.

What Is Available?

Boat-Ed in Spanish provides the same curriculum that we offer in English, which has been approved by the states. These courses have also been approved by the NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators).

This means taking and passing the Spanish version of the course where it's available counts as your boater education requirement!

Who Translated the Courses Into Spanish?

We take quality and accuracy very seriously here at Boat-Ed.

Our translation process was a three-step process. The initial translations were done via Machine Translation (MT) in the Transifex platform. Our second step was then to have the MT reviewed and edited by certified Spanish linguists through Acclaro. Then, our third step was to have the Kalkomey Content team review all of the content. Once satisfied, they approved the translations.

About Boater Education and Boat-Ed

Boater education saves lives on the water!

Boat-Ed logo with tagline

Most States in the U.S. require boat operators to pass a boater safety education course before driving a boat or PWC (personal watercraft) on the water. Only an approved safety course meets this requirement, and Boat-Ed online courses are approved by NASBLA and all 50 states.

Our courses teach essential information about responsible boating practices, etiquette, safety equipment, right-of-way rules, navigation, avoiding accidents, what to do in emergencies, and more to keep boat operators, passengers, and others enjoying the water safe.

Boat-Ed courses include high-definition videos, scenarios, and quizzes to help you learn the required information and pass the final exam to earn your boater education card. Students can take courses on a computer or mobile device, making it easy to learn anywhere you can connect to the internet.
