District of Columbia Boating Education Requirements
To operate a motorized vessel in District of Columbia, you need boating education. No one under the age of 18 years may legally operate a motorized vessel over 16 feet in length unless he or she:
- Has the proof of successfully completing a boating safety course or…
- Is operating the vessel under the direct supervision of an adult who has successfully completed a boating safety course.
District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, Harbor Patrol Requirements
There is no minimum age requirement to take this online course.
