Requirements Specific to PWC
In addition to adhering to all boating laws, PWC operators have requirements specific to their vessel.
- Each person on board a PWC must wear a properly secured USCG–approved PFD.
- PWC must either be equipped with an ECOS or have a self-circling feature if the operator falls off. If the PWC is equipped with an ECOS, the lanyard must be attached to the person, clothing, or PFD of the operator.
