Indiana law designates the following dangerous operating practices as unsafe.
Examples of unsafe conditions are:
Loading the vessel beyond the recommended capacity shown on the capacity
plate installed by the vessel manufacturer
Allowing any occupant, including the operator, to ride on the gunwale or on the bow, if the vessel is less than 21 feet in length, where they may fall overboard
