Course Outline

All vessel engines must be equipped with an effective muffling device or underwater exhaust. Vessel operators may not hear sound signals or voices if the engine is not adequately muffled.

  • The noise level of any motorized vessel measured at a distance of 50 feet or more from the vessel must not exceed 82 dBA in a normal operating environment.
  • The use of cutouts is prohibited.
