Course Outline

Buoys are the “traffic signals” that guide pleasure craft operators safely along some waterways. They also identify dangerous or controlled areas and give directions and information. As a pleasure craft operator, you will need to know the different types of lateral, isolated danger, cardinal, and special-purpose buoys in the Canadian Aids to Navigation System.
