Course Outline

For the first layer next to your skin:

  • Choose a material that does not absorb moisture but allows perspiration to evaporate quickly, such as polyester, polypropylene, or silk.
  • Do not use cotton as your first layer, except in very hot temperatures and warm water. Cotton absorbs moisture and is slow to dry when it gets wet. It is also a poor heat insulator.
