Type III PFDs: Wearable Flotation Aids

These vests or jackets are good for calm waters when quick rescue is likely. They will not turn most unconscious wearers face up. They are used for water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. Some Type III life jackets are designed to inflate when you enter the water.
