Course Outline

For a casual trip, wear a hat that shades your head and keeps the sun out of your eyes. Even better, wear one that floats.

For white-water trips, wear a hard plastic or kevlar composite helmet to protect your head if you capsize in shallow water and hit your head on any rocks. Strap the helmet in place so that it protects the forehead, temples, and ears.
